Description
Brook House is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, connected to 19th-century shops, a bakehouse, granary, and slaughterhouse, which together enclose a small yard. The building has a three-unit plan with a lobby entry. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a plain tile roof featuring a central ridge stack made of red brick. The house has two storeys and a coved plaster eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are two hung sash windows with glazing bars, and there are two similar windows on the ground floor along with a boarded door. Additionally, there are two fire insurance plaques. Inside, the property contains two sealed inglenook hearths.
