Description

This is a row of eight terraced houses, numbered 1 to 8, built in approximately 1848. Situated on the north-west side of Cromwell Place, the terrace has two storeys and two windows per house. The roofs are slate-covered, featuring projecting eaves supported by brackets. The houses are constructed of gault brick with decorative arches of flat, gauged brick above the recessed sash windows, which retain their original glazing bars. Number 2 Cromwell Place has a later ground floor bay window added. Houses number 4 to 8 have shutters on their ground floor windows. The doorways are round-arched and architraved, with block impost courses, fanlights, and panelled doors. The houses contribute significantly to the group value of the area.
