Description

Yucca House is an early 18th-century farmhouse with a roof that was raised at the rear in the 19th century. It has an adjoining stable range to the east, which dates from the early 19th century. The house is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched roof covered with modern slates. There are end stacks and a band between the two storeys. The façade includes two small closet openings that are now blocked, flanking a range of three flush frame hung sashes with glazing bars set in cambered arches. The ground floor is similar, with the exception of a central doorway. The stable range is made of gault brick on coursed limestone footings, likely reused from the chancel of the Church of St John the Baptist. This range is two storeys high and includes two hay loft openings and two stable doors. Inside, one ground floor room is lined with bolection moulded panelling, featuring pulvinated friezes on the doors and overmantel.
