Description

The Riverside Tavern, formerly known as the Mason's Arms, is a late 18th century inn that has been altered and features a rear wing. The building is constructed of local brown brick, which is rendered up to the first floor height on the street facade. It has a steeply pitched slate roof with a tumbled parapet gable on the south-west side, complete with an end stack. The first floor has two flush-framed hung sash windows with four panes each, along with a central blind window. To the left of the recessed doorway, which has a modern panelled door, there is a two-light hung sash window. This information is noted in A.A. Oldham's "Inns and Taverns of Wisbech," published in 1950.
