Description
The gazebo, located to the northeast of Number 54, was built in the late 19th century and is one of a pair constructed by the Peckover Family. It features a stone plaque on the southwest facade that reads, "Be not weary in well doing." The structure is made of red brick with yellow brick dressings and has moulded terracotta window architraves, as well as shaped brackets supporting the eaves cornice. The roof is pyramidal and covered with slate, topped with a wooden finial. The gazebo is two storeys tall, with windows on three sides consisting of paired, fixed lights shaped into shallow pointed arches. There is a staircase leading to the first floor, which is situated over a brick arch. Additionally, the gazebo has a cast iron gutter adorned with lion masks. Photographs and prints from the 18th and 19th centuries are associated with this site.
