Description

This is a late 18th-century house, originally built as two cottages and dated 'C.P. 1774' on a stone plaque. It is located in Wisbech and is constructed of local brown brick, with a hipped slate roof and a ridge stack. The building has a layout in the shape of an 'L' and is two storeys high, with a band separating the floors. The river-facing facade features three first-floor hung sash windows with glazing bars set in flush frames, and two ground-floor windows. There is a simple wooden doorcase with a modern six-panelled door. The side elevation has four hung sash windows at both floor levels, set within segmental arches, and one blocked doorway. Historical photographs and prints of the building from the 18th and 19th centuries are held at the Wisbech & Fenland Museum.
