Description
Nos. 41 and 42 North Brink are a pair of late 18th century houses located in Wisbech. They are constructed of local brown brick and feature a slate roof with tumbled parapet gables and end stacks. The buildings are two storeys high, with attics and basements, and the basement windows are cut into the brick plinth. Each house has two flat-roofed dormer windows, two blind windows on the first floor, and two 19th century four-pane hung sash windows set in red gauged brick arches. A red gauged brick band runs along the first floor, and red brick quoins are present at the corners.
On the ground floor, there are two windows with twelve panes, also in red gauged brick arches, flanking a pair of doorcases that have deep reveals and blind round-headed fanlights above. The doors are six-panelled, and there are stone steps leading to the street, with iron railings enclosing the basement forecourt. Inside, the houses retain original chimney pieces and panelled side cupboards, and they feature a good butt-purlin roof.
