Description
The Church of St Mary is a parish church built in 1873 by T. H. Wyatt. It features rock-faced rustication with sandstone bands and has steeply pitched tiled roofs, including a bell turret at the west end. The church comprises a nave, chancel, and south porch. The octagonal bell turret has a pyramidal roof and pointed arches for the bell chamber openings. The windows are designed in the early English style with plate tracery, and the east end of the chancel is apsed, showcasing a range of seven rose windows set in round-headed arches with Ketton stone surrounds. Inside, the nave has a roof supported by king post roof trusses across nine bays. The chancel arch is two-centred and consists of two orders, with the outer being roll moulded and the inner hollow moulded. The font is made of stone and is in the style of the 13th century, featuring a square bowl supported by four grouped columns.
