Description

The British Legion is a house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from local gault brick in English bond and features a parapetted roof that is now covered with cement tiles. The building has tumbled gable end parapets and was originally designed with two parallel linked ranges. It stands two storeys high and has plain bands at the eaves height and between the storeys. There is a range of six recessed hung sash windows, each with twelve panes. The main entrance is located in a late 19th-century porch on the side, whereas it was originally positioned in the front wall on the right. Additionally, there is a round-headed arch to the staircase window in the rear wall.
