Description

The Chequers Public House is an early 19th-century building constructed of brick that is stuccoed, featuring parapetted slate roofs that are hipped, along with a large gault brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade facing Broad Street, which includes a central doorway flanked by two-storey bow windows. Above the doorway and in each storey of the bays, there is one hung sash window with sixteen panes. The elevation facing Dartford Road is similar but does not have a central doorway. There are recessed panels above the corner doorway, and there is an adjoining shaped wall that leads to the carriageway entry from Dartford Road.
