Description

Sessions House is a former Sessions House of the Isle of Ely, built in 1808 and designed by local architect Thomas West. The building is constructed from local gault brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof with a louvre. It has one storey and a half basement, with the main entrance facing east, accessed by stone stairs with iron railings. The façade includes a parapet with stone copings, rusticated quoins, a cornice band, and a plinth. There are five recessed, twelve-paned hung sash windows set in cambered gauged brick arches. The main entrance now has a modern door and fanlight within the original cambered, gauged brick arch, flanked by two similar windows. The original coved ceiling has been boarded over.
