Description

Nos. 4, 6, and 8 on Barton Road are an early 19th-century row of small cottages. They are constructed from local brown brick and feature pantile roofs, with two rear stacks and an end stack on the west side. The cottages are two storeys high. No. 8 has two sixteen-paned hung sash windows on both floors, set in flat brick arches, and a door located to the east. Nos. 4 and 6, which form a pair, have two hung sash windows on the first floor with nine panes each, and larger ground floor windows of a similar style. There are two four-panelled doors positioned to the right and left. A moulded wooden lintel band runs above the windows and doors.
