Description

Newnham Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1575, as indicated on an axial beam. The building has been renovated, with the original lobby entry now blocked. The kitchen wing to the west has been rebuilt and features a lean-to porched entrance. The structure is timber-framed, with brick casing and rendering. It has a thatched roof with a central ridge stack made of local brick, which includes two diagonal shafts. The farmhouse is one storey with an attic, featuring two three-light casement dormer windows and two similar windows on the ground floor. There is an extension to the west with a pantiled roof, which also has two dormer windows. Inside, the farmhouse showcases exposed floor frames with stop-chamfered joists.
