Description
No 107 on The Causeway is a 17th-century house that was formerly known as the White Hart Inn until 1827. It features a two-unit, lobby entry plan with an 18th-century addition to the east that includes a cellar. The south facade has early 20th-century oriel windows. The building is constructed with a plastered timber frame and has a thatched roof, with a clunch gable wall that has a brick band and a tiled roof. There is a ridge stack on the left side. The house has one storey and an attic, with a three-light thatched casement dormer window and two gabled oriel windows. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window with shutters, along with two doors on the left and right sides. Inside, the property features stop, ovolo moulded axial beams and chamfered joists. There is an early 17th-century stone fireplace with a moulded four-centred head and chamfered jambs, as well as reused 18th-century panelling made from church pews. The 18th-century addition is possibly the parlour of the inn.
