Description
Grove House is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is built of narrow gault brick, which is plaster rendered and painted, and features a slate roof that is hipped at the northeast end. The southwest end has a tumbled parapet. The house has a cellar, two storeys, and an attic.
On the first floor, there are three flush frame 19th-century hung sash windows with margin lights, all set under raised arches. The ground floor has three similar windows. The doorway features an original pedimented doorcase with a dentil cornice supported by fluted pilasters, and it contains a six raised and fielded panel door. The northeast end wall also has two similar 19th-century flush frame hung sash windows.
At the rear, there is a mid-19th-century addition for a dining room, which is two storeys high. Inside, the house has raised and fielded six-panelled doors, and there is an opposing rear doorway with a reeded doorcase and boss enrichments.
