Description
Ash Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building is mainly constructed of brick, which is rendered or painted, though it may include some timber framing. It features a reed thatched roof with gable end parapets and gault brick ridge and end stacks. The cottage has an L-plan layout that includes the 19th-century wing. It is one storey with an attic, featuring three later gable dormers and three ground floor windows, which are also later additions. The doorway is set within a modern porch. At the rear, there is a wing that is brick-built, painted, and has a reed thatched roof. This wing is two storeys high and has two pantiled eaves dormers along with two ground floor hung sash windows, each with twelve panes.
