Description

This is a cottage, dated 1687, as indicated by a stone panel at the base of the brick chimney stack. It is timber-framed and largely brick-cased with a thatched roof made of combed wheat reed. The roof has an end parapet resting on kneelers, and a narrow ridge stack with three diagonally-set, detached shafts. The cottage is arranged with three bays and a lobby entry plan, and it has one storey with attics. There are three dormers, and four casement windows. The doorway opposite the stack has a hood supported by scroll brackets, a late 18th-century doorcase, and a panelled door.
