Description

Nos. 9 and 11 Townsend are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring gauged brick lintels above all openings. The cottages have a hipped roof covered with slate and are two storeys high with a three-window range. The openings are slightly camber arched, and the windows have projecting sills, with 8-pane sashes that are of original design. The entrances are located between the two ranges, and there are external brick wall stacks on the returns, although the stack to the right is lacking weathering.
