Description

This is a small, 18th-century brick house located on the north side of St Mary’s Street. It has two storeys and an attic. Originally, it had a two-window front with double-hung sash windows containing glazing bars, set within flush-cased frames. The ground floor now contains a 19th-century shop front, and there is a cart entrance. The roof is tiled with old Cambridgeshire tiles, and a flat-headed dormer window provides attic lighting. The house is constructed using bricks manufactured in Haddenham. It forms a group with numbers 20, 22, 22A, 24 to 30 (even), 34, 36, 36A, 38, 40 to 60 (even), 13 to 29 (odd), and 29A St Mary's Street, Parson’s Almshouses, numbers 1 to 5 Downham Road, numbers 20, 22, 22A, 24 to 30 (even), 34, 36, 36A, 38, 40 to 60 (even) numbers 13 to 29 (odd) & 29A, number 20 Church Lane, and the Parish Church of St Mary.
