Description
The Bell Inn is a public house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure that has been encased in painted brick, topped with a steeply pitched roof that is slated, though it was originally tiled or thatched. The original red brick ridge stack has four grouped shafts set diagonally on a square base. The building has a plan consisting of three bays with a cross-passage between the hall and service bay. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows on both the first and ground floors, all of which are from the 20th century. The ground floor is the only part visible. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered main beam that is supported on a pad over the inglenook hearth.
