Description
No. 125 on North Street is a house dating from the 16th century. It features a timber-framed structure with clunch that is plastered, and has a brick plinth. The building has a rebuilt ridge stack on the cross wing and a 19th-century gault brick ridge stack on the main range, topped with a red pantiled roof. The house is two storeys high, with the cross wing also having two storeys and attics. The hall range includes two casement windows on both the first and ground floors, along with a blocked doorway. The gable facade of the cross wing has three casement windows that decrease in size with each storey. Inside, the house reveals a substantial timber frame with a splayed scarf joint at the wall plate of the cross wing and features stop-chamfered ceiling beams, as well as side purlin roofs.
