Description

44 High Street is a cottage that may have originally been a crosswing to No. 46. It dates from the early 17th century and features a timber frame with plaster rendering and a plain tiled roof, with the gable end facing the road. The building has two storeys, with the first floor jettied. The jetty beam is now concealed and is supported at the south end by a brick pier. There is one flush frame hung sash window on the first floor, above a similar window and doorway on the ground floor. The rear wall displays exposed timber framing, and the roof is supported by side purlins.
