Description
30 Thompson's Lane is a house dating from around 1820. It is two storeys tall with a symmetrical front made of gault brick. The building features stone bands between the storeys and below the parapet, and has five windows with flat brick arches, glazing bars, and jalousies. The first-floor window is set in a round-headed recess with common moulded stone imposts. The central doorway has two recessed orders, plain stone imposts, and a semi-elliptical head, topped with an ornamental metal fanlight. The door has two leaves, each with three panels. Inside, the house retains original "Adam" type doorcases, doors, and fireplaces, along with a good staircase that has a simple iron railing. This house is an important example of its period. Nos 29 to 31 Thompson's Lane form a group with this property.
