Description
31 Thompson's Lane is a building dating from around 1820, distinct in construction from the adjacent No 30. It is two storeys tall and built of gault brick, topped with a slate roof. A flat stone band with simple moulding runs above the eaves. The facade features six windows, one of which is set in a recess, with flush frames and glazing bars. The ground floor has a doorway framed by two square orders with a semi-circular head, flanked by two three-light windows with segmental heads and shutters, as well as one single-light window also set in a recess. Inside, there is brick barrel-vaulting in the cellar, along with an original staircase and some other contemporary fittings. The buildings at Nos 29 to 31 form a group.
