Description
38-40 Parkside is a pair of early 19th-century houses, built around 1835. They are constructed from grey gault brick and feature a symmetrical design with cement dressings. The buildings rise three storeys with attics and have a mansard roof with a parapet. The facade is arranged in a 2:4:2 pattern, with eight windows that include glazing bars. At either end of the front, there are projecting blocks with a balustraded balcony between them on the first floor, supported by plain piers with moulded caps and entablatures. All windows, except for those on the top floor of the central block, have jalousies. The entire frontage is complemented by contemporary cast iron spearhead railings. The entrance to No 40 is located on Warkworth Terrace. This pair of houses is part of a group that includes Nos 20 to 25, 27 to 33, and 35 to 40.
