Description

Bull Hostel at St Catharine's College was built in 1828 and is a four-storey building with attics. It is constructed of stone ashlar and features a mansard slate roof. The front facade is symmetrically designed with four bays, where the second and eighth bays project slightly. The ground floor is rusticated, and there is a moulded cornice below the parapet. The windows above the ground floor have moulded architraves, and the first-floor windows are adorned with cornices and balconies. The entrance includes a stone ashlar porch with plain piers, moulded cappings, and entablatures. Originally designed with seven bays, the eighth bay is a modern addition that projects over the re-aligned King's Lane. Inside, the building retains an original staircase and many enriched plaster cornices.
