Description
26-28 Thistle Street is an early 19th century building that has undergone subsequent additions and alterations. It features four storeys and an attic, with a three-bay design situated on a corner site. The exterior is constructed from coursed cream sandstone rubble, with red ashlar at the ground level. At the ground floor, there is a corniced architraved door flanked by tripartite windows. The third floor and mansard attic are later additions, creating a five-bay appearance. The original rubble gable end was two bays, but an extra storey and an additional bay were added to the south side. The rear of the building also has a three-storey and attic three-bay design.
The windows are timber sash and case, featuring 12 panes each. The building has ashlar coped skews, grey slate roofing, and rubble stacks.
The interior has been modernized for office use.
