Description
The Zoological Laboratory, located on Downing Street, was built between 1900 and 1904 by architect E S Prior. It is designed in a free classical style and features inscriptions by Eric Gill. The building is constructed of ashlar and consists of three storeys and a rusticated basement. It has 30 windows, with three sections that project forward and are topped with open pediments. The original detailing and a notable staircase remain intact, although the upper part has been altered and the rear has been rebuilt.
