Description
The Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, built between 1893 and 1894 by Marshall, is located on the New Museum site in Cambridge. This Grade II listed building features brick construction and incorporates the hall from around 1600, which is the reason for its listing. The hall boasts a remarkable hammerbeam roof with five bays, adorned with pierced spandrel decoration, enriched braces, and pendants. The roof has been ceiled below the rafters, and a floor has been added to create a library space.
