Description
Wolfson Hall, Bracken Library, and Bevin Rooms at Churchill College is a library that includes reading rooms and a hall, built between 1961 and 1968 by Sheppard Robson and Partners. The building is made of brown brick and concrete and has two storeys, featuring a double-height hall on the east side and the library on the west. The east elevation showcases a projecting semicircular staircase on the north side and a three-bay window with closely spaced precast concrete vertical sunshades. The external door is made of sculpted metal by Geoffrey Clarke. This building is an integral part of the planned scheme for Churchill College, designed by N. Taylor in the context of Cambridge's New Architecture.
