Description
This is a house located at 63 Storey's Way, built in 1912 by T. D. Atkinson. It is constructed of yellow brick with rendered brick dressings and features a pantiled roof in the Neo-Georgian style. The building has two storeys and a dormer attic, with a six-window range.
The centre bay projects and is rusticated and rendered, containing the entrance doorway. The doorway features a lugged timber doorcase with a door that has six fielded panels. Above the door is a plain frieze beneath an open segmental pediment supported by three brackets. There is a canted triple horned sash window above the door, which has a combination of two-over-two and six-over-six panes. To the left of the door, there are three four-over-four horned sash windows on each floor, with the ground floor windows set beneath segmental heads. Immediately to the right of the door is an arched six-over-six horned sash window that lights the staircase. The remainder of the fenestration to the right consists of two four-over-four horned sash windows on each floor, similar to those on the left.
The house features a modillion eaves cornice beneath a hipped roof, with two hipped dormers fitted with two-light casements. There is a central ridge stack and a secondary stack on the front roof slope to the right of centre.
Inside, the ground floor includes three re-used mid-18th century doors. The south-west room has large-framed panelling and a lugged chimneypiece, while the south-east room features similar panelling and a chimneypiece with a pulvinated frieze. The staircase has stick balusters and a moulded handrail.
