Description

This is a late 19th-century picturesque cottage, originally named Hill Cottage but now known as Mayfield Cottage, situated on the east side of High Road in Horndon-on-the-Hill. The building is constructed of brick and timber framing with weatherboarding, and it features a thatched roof. It is a single-story structure with an attic, containing two windows. The windows are 19th-century casements. Two large dormers are prominent on the south facade. A central chimney stack is constructed of red brick.
