Description

Woodgate Cottage is a 17th or early 18th century cottage that was extended by one bay at the south end in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a thatched roof with coped gable ends. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has a three-window range. The windows are 19th century two-light casements, and there are three eyebrow dormers with glazing bars. A doorway is blocked, and there are brick chimney stacks at the ends and a stone chimney stack at the south end. It is said that this building was once a toll house.
