Description
Maxey Mill is a late 18th-century water mill, marked by a stone tablet inscribed "JM 1779". The building is constructed from coursed stone with flush stone quoins and window arches. It features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with coped gable ends. The mill stands three storeys high and has three bays. Its windows are three-light casements with glazing bars set in segmental arched openings. There are doorways on the ground and first floors. The mill is equipped with a breast shot wheel and a complete set of 19th-century machinery that is currently in working order and in use.
