Description
The School House and The Old School Room is a late 18th century range of cottages with an adjoining late 19th century school room located on Tallington Road in Bainton. The building is constructed from coursed stone rubble and features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with gabled ends. It is one storey high with an attic and has a three-window range with casements, three hipped dormers, and a plank door. The school room, added to the north end in the form of a gabled cross wing, is dated 1876 and has been converted into a house. It is also built of stone with a Collyweston stone roof and features large windows with keystones, along with a plaque in the gable that reads "Erected by Lord Kesteven 1876." The buildings are included for their group value.
