Description
No. 6 George Street West is an early 19th-century house made of red brick, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has a plan that is three bays wide and three bays deep, and it stands two storeys tall. The eaves are deep and panelled. The facade facing George Street West features slightly projecting outer bays, each with three-light sash windows that have glazing bars, while the central bay contains a single-light sash window. There is a brick storey band, and on the ground floor, two large three-light sashes flank a six-panelled door with a fanlight above. All the windows have gauged brick heads. To the right, there is a single-storey flat-roofed extension. The south-west elevation is similarly designed and includes a tall arched staircase window in the central bay, which has stained glass, and an early 20th-century bay window with French doors. There is also a modern two-storey extension to the left.
