Description
Numbers 84 and 86, known as Westholt, is a house dating from the late 18th century to the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring a chequer-work pattern in vitrified headers and may encase an earlier timbered structure. The building has clay tile roofs and a double-pile plan. The main block is two storeys high and includes two semi-octagonal projecting bays with hipped roofs, each featuring round-headed sash windows on both floors. The side elevations and the central bay of the main block have flat-headed sash windows, except for a blind window on the ground floor of the central bay. All windows are fitted with glazing bars and have gauged brick heads. There are slightly projecting brick stacks at both gable ends. The lower right-hand block has a sash window and a 19th-century canted bay on the ground floor, with a small sash window above it on the first floor. The entrance features a six-fielded-panel door topped by a semi-elliptical fanlight, with panelled reveals, pilasters, and an open pediment hood supported by large moulded brackets. A red brick external stack is located at the right gable end.
