Description
The Statue of Hercules is located in the south-east of Wrest Park and is made of Portland stone. The sculpture features a muscular figure of Hercules standing next to a tree stump. He wears the pelt of a lion across his right shoulder and holds a distaff in his right hand. The statue is set on a moulded stone plinth that rests on a square pedestal. The pedestal is decorated with a fascia and moulding detail, and it has fielded panels on all four sides. One corner of the plinth shows slight damage.
