Description
The Chinese Bridge, constructed in 1876, spans the north end of Broad Water. It is made of yellow brick with limestone dressings and features a single elliptical arched span. The bridge is detailed with rusticated voussoirs at its lower edge. The parapet includes a brick dentil course at its base, recessed panels, and a corbelled brick pier at the center. The central and end piers are topped with ball finials. On either side of the bridge, stones display the construction date and the monogram of Lady Anne Cowper, which is surmounted by a coronet cipher.
