Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 16th century and 17th century, with later alterations from the late 18th century and 19th century. It features substantial timber framing with red brick infill, and some areas are cased in red brick. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The building has a T-plan layout, with an earlier main block that has two storeys and attics, and a later cross-wing that also has two storeys.
The main block includes 20th-century three-light casements, with two on each floor, and one on each floor of the right-hand cross-wing. The main block has a panelled door set in a moulded surround, topped with a moulded cornice hood supported by cut brackets. This door aligns with a prominent red brick ridge stack that features linked octagonal shafts with moulded bases and caps. The front elevation of the right-hand cross-wing is faced in late 18th-century brick, with flared bricks creating a mottled effect. There is a 19th-century red brick integral stack on the right side wall, along with 19th-century additions to the side and rear of the cross-wing.
