Description
The Thatched Cottage is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, located in Husborne Crawley. The original cottage is timber framed and sits on a rubble plinth, finished with colourwashed roughcast render. To the right, there is an 18th-century barn that has been converted for residential use, which is also timber framed, with sections of roughcast render and weatherboarding. Both structures feature thatched roofs.
The cottage has an L-plan layout and is two stories high with attics. The 17th-century section has a gable end facing the road, with 18th-century single casements on the ground floor, a 2-light casement on the first floor, and a single-light casement in the attic, all featuring glazing bars. The right-hand block includes a 3-light sash window. There is a recessed doorway in the right-hand block, which is accessed by a flight of steps. A red brick ridge stack is present on the 17th-century block.
