Description
Cart Almshouses, built around 1723, are located on the east side of High Street South, numbered 65 to 75 (odd). The building features grey brick with red brick dressings and has an old tiled roof that is set behind a parapet. It is two storeys high and has two double light wood mullioned casement windows for each number, with the windows grouped in fours. The doorways are set in lairs and feature six fielded panelled doors. The Cart Almshouses, along with Chew's House and the front walls, form a cohesive group.
