Description

This is a late 16th century timber-framed building, significantly altered in the 19th and 20th centuries, and with rear extensions dated 1825. It is a two-storey building including a shop front and rear extensions. The building is timber-framed, with red brick rear extensions and a roof covered with plain red clay tiles and some concrete tiles.

The building occupies a long, narrow plot and has a rectilinear plan. The front elevation, facing High Street South, has a gabled, tiled roof running parallel to the street. The upper storey is rendered and features two sliding sash windows set in reveals. The ground floor is of red brick laid in stretcher bond, with a shop front dated 1986. The side elevation has four sliding sash windows on the first floor, incorporating glazing bars and a storey band.
