Description
The Railway Platform Building at Biggleswade Station is a Grade II listed structure dating from around 1860, built for the Great Northern Railway Company. It is a single-storey brick building with an iron frame and timber infill. The design features a five-bay section and a three-bay section, with two open bays between them and two additional open bays at either end. The entire structure is topped with a flat, projecting wooden roof that has a canopy supported by decorative iron brackets. The timber cladding includes dado panels, with irregularly spaced windows and clerestory windows above. The end elevations are fitted with various four-panel doors.
