Description
No 36 on High Street is a former Town Hall built in 1844 by J T Wing, featuring a simple Neo-classical style. The building is constructed of stucco and has an upper slate roof with a central louvre set behind a stepped and panelled parapet. It has five window bays; the three central bays contain round-headed casements with glazing bars, framed by architrave surrounds and supported by two Doric columns. The left bay features a rectangular window in an architrave surround with a panel above, flanked by simple panelled pilasters. The right bay has a door in an architrave surround topped with a cornice on consoles and a small window above. There are one-storey extensions to the north and south.
