Description

HIGH STREET 1. 5124 (South Side) No 36 TL 1944 1/40 II

  1. Former Town Hall. 1844 by J T Wing with later extensions. Simple Neo-classical style. Stucco. Upped slate roof with central louvre behind stepped and panelled, parapet. Five window bays, 3 central ones have round headed casements with glazing bars in architrave surrounds and 2 Doric columns. Left hand bay has rectangular window in architrave surround with panel above and flanked by simple panelled pilasters. Right hand bay of similar style has door in architrave surround with cornice on consoles and small window above. North and south one storey extensions.
