Description

No 2 on London Road is a late 19th-century building made of gault brick, featuring two stories and a basement. It has a balustraded parapet with decorated corner pillars and a deep cornice adorned with modillion and dentil friezes. The building includes brick quoins and two sash windows with marginal glazing bars and stained glass. The first-floor windows are topped with decorated pediments supported by consoles. The ground floor has a decorated frieze and cornice also on consoles. Central to the first floor are French doors of a similar style that open onto the top of a porch, which is supported by heavy rusticated columns.
