Description

This is an early 18th century block of three storeys, originally built of brick with a chequered pattern of blue bricks. Stone bands are present between the floors, topped by a plain brick parapet with light stone coping. The building has six windows per floor, with tall sash windows in broad, almost flush frames, except for a single ground floor window.

Nos. 12 and 14 share a restored shop front with twin doors combined into a continuous window, beneath a long, moulded hood, which is supported by grooved brackets over slender, fluted pilasters. No. 16 has a plain 18th century six-panel door within a simple frame and a small window above, with a moulded hood. A fine, original carved staircase is also located within No. 16.

Nos. 12 to 32 (even numbers) form a visual group.
