WESTONING

TL 0232 CHURCH ROAD

21/120 Monument approximately 1 metre E of chancel of Church of St Mary Magdalen GV II

Headstone to Thomas Breade, d.1716. Limestone. Stands approximately 3/4 metre high. E side has inscribed tablet in deep moulded frame, flanked by fluted Corinthian pilasters, and surmounted by deeply carved winged putto head under moulded segmental head. W side is plain, with following inscription:

The world is nothing, Heaven all I have lost nothing by my fall. Go tell my Friends when they do weep I am not dead but gone to sleep.
