Description
The Sycamores is a house located on High Street in Flitwick, dating from the 17th century with a 19th-century addition. The original part of the building is timber framed with colourwashed brick infill, while the later front block is made of colourwashed brick. It has a clay tile roof that is hipped at an angle. The house is two stories tall and has an L-shaped plan, with the 19th-century wing facing the road and the 17th-century wing to the southeast. The 17th-century block features a doorway with a gabled hood, aligned with a red brick double ridge stack. To the right of this doorway is a 20th-century bay window. The building has casement windows throughout, all with 20th-century diamond leading. The 19th-century block includes red brick integral stacks at both gable ends and a large 20th-century bay window on the left side of the ground floor.
