Description
Quince Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with additions and alterations made in the 18th century. It features a timber-framed construction that is substantial in parts, with red brick infill. The roof is covered with clay tiles and is hipped at the west end. The original structure has a three-room plan, with an 18th-century addition at the west end. The building is situated on a slope, making it two storeys at the west end and one storey with attics at the east end. It has casement windows throughout, most of which have leaded lights, and hipped dormers on the eastern part. There is a 20th-century gabled porch made of timber and brick on the north elevation, along with lean-to additions to the northeast and west. A red brick multiple ridge stack and a red brick stack at the east gable end complete the exterior.
